These venues are frequently mentioned on NYC-based wedding subreddits and are often recommended. 1. Shell’s Loft
This semi-inclusive venues allow the flexibility of bringing in your own caterers with the convenience of provided furniture and an in-house beverage program. The venue rental fees range from $3500-$8500 and offer rates on the low-end for micro-wedding spaces. These do not include the cost of their beverage program, which ranges from $68-$100+ per person. 2. Brooklyn Botanic Garden
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a gorgeous venue with historical ties. The garden is more than 100 years old and is enjoyed daily, making this a memorable place to get married. Due to its popularity, getting married here can come with a hefty price tag – but pricing varies widely depending on the time of year.
There are two venues with the Botanic Garden – the Palm House and the Atrium. The Palm House is designed for larger events, requiring guest minimums of 125 – 200 people depending on the time of year, whereas the Atrium ranges from 60-100 guests. Both are all-inclusive venues which requires you to use them for all food and beverage, and your costs include rentals such as linens, glassware, cutlery, etc. Rates to reserve the Palm House range from $3300 for a winter Friday to $12,000 for a Saturday in peak months. The Atrium rental fee is between $2500-$7700 depending on the day and time of year. Keep in mind you will need to adhere to their guest minimums, so after calculating the F&B cost (which can range from $220-275pp), admin fees, and service fees, getting married on a Saturday in June in the Palm House will cost you a little over $95,000, whereas a Friday in winter pricing will cost about $47,000. 3. The Box House Hotel
If you’re looking for a unique space that allows you to enjoy indoor and outdoor rooftop, the Box House Hotel in Greenpoint could be a good option. This venue has a retractable roof that gives the benefit of an outdoor space with the security of an indoor backup plan. They also offer some great views of surrounding Brooklyn. This is an all-inclusive venue that has a fairly hefty minimum F&B cost (starting at 30k for non-peak months) and rental fees starting at $6750 for off-peak months so is better suited for larger groups of 130+ to reach the F&B minimum. 4. Celestine
Celestine is a popular venue for those looking for a smaller, more intimate venue with stunning views. Located on the Brooklyn waterfront, it offers iconic views of the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge in the background nestled among trees. Their pricing starts at $30,000 for 70 guests for Fridays and Saturdays, but weekday evenings can be done for $16,000 – $24,000, As an all-inclusive restaurant venue, that covers the cost of F&B, rentals, and simple decor. 5. Dobbin St.
Dobbin St., located in Williamsburg, is a semi-inclusive venue that offers a sizable space that can fit up to 200 guests for a seated dinner. The venue also includes a rooftop with great views of surrounding Williamsburg, a courtyard, and getting ready spaces included in the contract. They provide furniture for a delivery fee between $300-500 and have an in-house beverage program – though you can bring in any caterer you’d like. Venue rental fees range from $6500-$10,500 for weekends, depending on the time of year.
6. Bacchus
Bacchus is another popular ‘restaurant venue’ that offers an intimate backyard-style wedding. If you’re looking to do a small brunch wedding, this can be an affordable option with their per-person pricing starting at $90-$100 per person with a $5500 minimum in the off-season. They have a range of rooms and spaces to choose from (including a full buyout) so the minimums for dinner can range from $10,000-$25,000.
7. The W Loft (part of BK Venues)
If you want full control over your event, a raw space such as the W Loft may be a good choice. Part of a group of raw space venues (including the Greenpoint Loft and Dumbo Loft) The W Loft offers an affordable rental cost between $4000-$5000 and includes tables and chairs. It also includes a massive rooftop terrace with stunning views of Manhattan. The versatility of the space makes it a good option for those looking to host a unique smaller wedding (90 guest capacity).
8. 501 Union
501 Union in Brooklyn in the neighborhood of Gowanus offers a versatile and modern setting perfect for weddings, with an industrial-chic style featuring exposed brick, high ceilings, and elegant fixtures. The venue can accommodate up to 160 seated guests or 250 standing, making it ideal for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Rental rates vary by season and day, starting at $4,000 for January and February Saturdays, peaking at $14,800 for popular months like October. Venue fees cover cleaning and onsite event staff, with flexible holiday pricing and weekday hourly rates available. Pricing varies by date and guest count; for instance, a Monday evening event in January has a minimum spend of $10,250, covering up to 50 dinner guests, with additional guests at $225 each. In peak months like September and October, a Saturday event requires a minimum spend of $27,000 for up to 90 dinner guests, with each additional guest at $320. These packages include amenities such as private use of the venue’s indoor and outdoor spaces, a couple’s suite, house sound system, DJ equipment, and onsite event coordination, ensuring a comprehensive and memorable wedding experience.
10. Prospect Park Picnic House
The Picnic House is in the heart of Prospect Park and is a charming, historic pavilion with a 4,000-square-foot open space. With a capacity for 175 guests seated or 240 for a cocktail-style event, this venue offers a cozy, versatile setting with features like a working fireplace, raised stage, and ceiling fans. You have the option to get married outside or inside the venue, though you’ll need to get a permit to get married in the park. Rental rates vary seasonally, starting at $5,500 for a Saturday in winter (November through March) and $7,000 in the warmer months (April through October). Rentals include essentials like tables, chairs, and 10 parking permits, along with a refundable $1,000 security deposit. Catering must be sourced from one of 10 approved vendors.
11. The Boathouse in Prospect Park
The Boathouse in Prospect Park offers an iconic setting with a Beaux-Arts design and scenic views of the park’s lake, ideal for intimate weddings of 100–150 guests seated indoors or up to 225 guests for standing receptions. Rental fees vary by season, with Saturdays from April to October priced at $7,500 and winter rates starting at $4,000. Purslane, known for its sustainable, zero-waste catering, is the exclusive vendor, and all food, beverages, and rental needs are handled through them. This can be a pricier option; for example, a 120-guest wedding in April is estimated to cost around $51,000, covering food, beverages, rentals, and associated fees. The venue rental includes an eight-hour booking, private parking, and exclusive access to a lakeside terrace, perfect for sunset ceremonies.
